About the Global Well-being Project

Our Mission: To cultivate a global, evidence-based, and well-being-focused intentional society by connecting individuals and communities dedicated to human and ecological flourishing.

The project is at the beginning of a long journey. It starts as a digital hub, a space for learning, planning and gathering resources. Its longer-term aim is physical: to support real-world local networks and, over generations, intentional communities grounded in science, equity and psychological safety. We build alongside the existing system, supporting what works, instead of fighting it. See our Principles.

Whether you’re an individual seeking a more purposeful way of living, or part of an existing community looking to connect with a wider network, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Our Foundation: Three Dimensions of Well-being

We look to the evidence, and we say how strong it is. Our work is organised around three connected dimensions.

The Personal Dimension: psychological and physical thriving. We aim for environments that support autonomy, competence and relatedness, a sense of purpose and meaning, and evidence-based habits for long-term physical health.

The Social Dimension: connection and equity. We aim to build resilient connection that counters isolation, to reduce unfair inequality and the barriers it creates, and to make space for every voice, especially those historically marginalised.

The Planetary Dimension: ecological harmony. Guided by Doughnut Economics, we aim to meet human needs without overshooting the Earth’s ecological limits.

How We Organise: Structured Core, Fluid Edge

We combine stability with freedom in a hybrid model, and we’re open to better ways of organising as we learn.

The Core is the project’s stable centre. It’s intended to be governed by Sociocracy, a consent-based method of decision-making, and to keep the project’s evidence-based standards and values. Today the Core is the founder. It will grow deliberately, not by open invitation.

The Edge is where real-world action happens. As the community grows, we hope people will self-organise in a swarm style: local reading groups, community gardens, well-being initiatives, and links with existing intentional communities. Work that aligns with the project’s principles won’t need top-down permission.

Where We Are Now

We’re still articulating our ideas, and the community around them is small. If they resonate with you, we’d love to hear from you. See Connect.
